Trampoline
What is Trampoline Gymnastics?
Trampoline Gymnastics is an exciting and powerful Olympic sport, with top competitors performing multiple twisting double and triple somersaults up to 10m in the air!
What if I’ve never done Trampoline before?
All Members start with the basics, learning simple skills and combinations before progressing to more complex and challenging skills such as somersaults. For safety reasons, there are many skills and combinations which need to be perfected before any skill is taught that involves Members going upside down!
What is the class structure like in Trampoline? Will I be by myself?
Trampoline classes all begin with a 15 minute floor warm-up, before being assigned to a Trampoline with 2-4 other Members. A AAAsports Coach will set out a circuit for Members that includes fun developmental activites to help Members achieve somersaults quicker! Members will get the chance to work directly with their Coach and practice existing skills under supervision whilst rotating around the circuit, as well as helping to spot for other Members in their group.
How many Members are there in a group?
Each AAAsports Coach will use up to 2 trampolines and have a group of up to 8 Members at a time, which is among the lowest Coach to Member ratios in the country!
Will I achieve any awards?
Every 6-8 weeks, the AAAsports Coaches will assess each member in their group against the British Gymnastics Trampoline Award scheme. Members who can demonstrate the skills and routines required on each award to a good standard will pass their Award! For more information on our Award Schemes, click here.
Can I take part in any competitions?
Each year Members are able to take part in the AAAsports Championships, which is a fun, friendly event for Members to demonstrate the skills they have learned throughout the year, and everyone who takes part receives a medal and certificate! AAAsports also have their own competitive Trampoline Squads who compete locally, nationally and internationally – these Squads are by invitation only, but all Members are closely monitored to determine suitability for these Squads.
