PRE-SCHOOL
AGES 3-4Our dedicated early-years gymnastics route for children aged 3 to 4, before moving into the 4+ participation programme.

From a first independent class at age 3 to participation, progression, SQUAD opportunities and adult gymnastics, there is no single AAAsports journey.
Gymnastics at AAAsports is designed to give Members somewhere to start and somewhere to keep going.
Members develop through our participation programme using ongoing Skills Tracking. When the required transfer skills are achieved, they can move into the next participation level.
Progression is based on readiness, not simply how long somebody has attended. And throughout participation, our Coaches are continually assessing Members for potential to join our Gymnastics SQUAD.
Not every Member needs to follow every step, and competitive gymnastics is not the only goal. This is the core participation pathway that allows Members to keep developing when they are ready.

Explore Pre-School →The main starting point from age 4. Members build core gymnastics skills while their development is tracked throughout their classes.
Members move into Aspire when they have achieved the required Aspire Transfer through Skills Tracking.
Members who achieve their Advanced Transfer can continue developing within our Advanced participation classes.
A dedicated boys-only gymnastics class within our participation programme.
An age-specific gymnastics option for Members aged 12 to 18 who want to continue participating and developing.
Gymnastics does not have to stop at 18. Our adult classes provide an ongoing participation route for adults.
Each participation level has a defined AAAsports syllabus. It sets out the skills our Coaches can teach and track within that class, so Members and families can clearly see what belongs at Fundamentals, Aspire and Advanced level.
A broad introduction to core gymnastics, including floor skills, balances, jumps, bars and hanging work, beam, vault and rebound activities.
Aspire builds on the Fundamentals base with more demanding floor, rebound, bar, beam, bench and vault skills, with greater emphasis on control, flexibility, strength and technique.
Advanced is where gymnasts continue into higher-level floor, bar, beam and vault work, including more complex skills, combinations, power and technical refinement.
Members can use focused individual coaching to work on skills within the appropriate Fundamentals, Aspire or Advanced syllabus.
Our participation classes follow a consistent structure so Members know what to expect, but the content within that structure keeps changing. Warm-up games rotate, apparatus rotations change, individual coached skills move with the Member, and development stations are rebuilt around the skills being developed.
Warm-up games rotate through the programme and include different movement challenges and variations.
The Class Schedule sets the apparatus rotations for the group, so the focus moves across Floor, Bars, Beam, Vault and other appropriate activities.
At the coached station, the Coach checks that Member's Skills Tracking to see what they were working on previously and coaches the appropriate next skill or progression. The next Member arriving at the same station may be working on something different.
The surrounding stations are planned by apparatus, level and theme. They develop the shapes, strength, movement patterns and component skills that support the coached work.
The Coach remains at the coached station while Members rotate around the circuit. When each Member arrives, the Coach checks their Skills Tracking to see what they were working on previously and coaches the appropriate skill or progression for that individual. The next Member may therefore work on a different skill at exactly the same coached station. The surrounding development stations are deliberately selected building blocks, not activities to fill time.
The Coach stays here, checks each Member's Skills Tracking and continues from the skill or progression they were working on previously. Different Members can therefore receive different coaching at the same station.
A component, recap or preparation exercise linked to the rotation.
Builds a shape, strength element or movement pattern needed for progress.
Another progressive activity appropriate to the apparatus and level.
Reinforces parts of the target skill while the Member stays active.
Continues the circuit before Members rotate on again.
In a Floor rotation built around weight on hands, the coached station is supported by development tasks that practise the physical building blocks around it. Examples from the programme include:
Our Coaches use Skills Tracking throughout participation classes to record development and build a consistent picture of each Member's progress.
In Gymnastics, that tracking also supports progression through the participation pathway. Aspire Transfer and Advanced Transfer are achieved through the required skills, rather than simply reaching a particular age or completing a fixed number of weeks.
Families can also stay connected with progress through their AAAsports account and progress updates.
Technical progress matters, but it is not the only thing we want Members to feel proud of. Recognition is built into the participation programme at different timescales.
EVERY SINGLE CLASS
At the end of every participation class, each Coach recognises one Member from their group with the Amazing Effort Award and explains what they have done during that session to earn it. It is about trying hard, attitude and engagement, not simply being the most advanced gymnast.
Development is continuously recorded so Members, Coaches and families can see progress over time and recognise when the next participation step is ready.
Normal participation classes periodically switch into TURBO Week. The usual class format is suspended for a dedicated week of challenges, Awards and recognition. TURBO also runs across our Trampoline and Cheerleading participation programmes.
Gymnastics SQUAD does not simply sit at the end of Fundamentals, Aspire and Advanced.
Our Coaches are continually assessing potential throughout participation classes. That means a Member can be developing within the participation pathway while our team are also considering whether SQUAD may be an appropriate opportunity for them.
For many Members, participation will be exactly the right journey. For others, competitive gymnastics may become part of what comes next.
View Gymnastics ClassesCompetitive potential is something our Coaches watch for across participation. SQUAD is a parallel opportunity, not simply the final participation level.
Our dedicated Disability & Additional Support classes combine Gymnastics and Trampoline. Where mainstream participation works, we also support families to explore appropriate reasonable adjustments.
The dedicated class provides a more flexible route for Members who may benefit from additional support, while remaining part of the wider AAAsports experience.

Yes. We have Seniors Gymnastics for ages 12 to 18 and Adult Gymnastics for ages 18+.
Our Disability & Additional Support programme combines Gymnastics and Trampoline, and we also consider reasonable adjustments for mainstream participation where appropriate.
Whether they are starting at 3, joining participation from age 4, continuing as a teenager or coming back to gymnastics as an adult, the next step starts with finding the right class.
