At AAAsports, we do not expect everyone to arrive with the same experience. Our recruitment pathways are designed to meet people at different starting points and develop them towards the same finishing standard.

We can develop knowledge, teach coaching, support qualifications and give people experience. What we cannot manufacture is enthusiasm.

For coaches who already hold a recognised gymnastics qualification such as GAI, Level 1 WAG or Level 2 WAG.
Learn practically with our team while working towards your British Gymnastics Foundation Coach qualification.
Our most comprehensive route. You are employed while developing as a coach and learning how all parts of AAAsports operate.
Whatever route interests you, everyone begins with the same selection process. We want it to be thorough enough to find the right people without making the first application unnecessarily difficult.
A short application covering who you are, your availability, any existing experience and why you want to join AAAsports.
Shortlisted applicants are invited to an online interview lasting approximately 20 minutes.
Successful interview candidates attend AAAsports for a practical trial lasting approximately one hour.
Following a successful practical trial, we take up references before confirming acceptance.
You enter our coaching development pathway at the point appropriate to your existing experience and qualifications.
The three routes do not stay separate forever. They enter at different points, then merge into the same AAAsports development and assessment standard.
Joins further into the pathway and focuses on learning how AAAsports classes are delivered.
Builds coaching ability and qualification together with Tutor Coach support.
The broadest starting route, with employment and development across all parts of AAAsports.
Practical learning in real AAAsports classes.
Required areas are recorded as they are learned and demonstrated.
Every coach must prove they meet the AAAsports minimum standard.
Outstanding safeguarding and other required training is completed.
Uniform, paid coaching opportunities and continued development.
Gymnastics is our core coaching discipline, so everybody develops that foundation first. Once established, coaches can choose to gain additional qualifications and develop into other disciplines and opportunities.
An external qualification matters, but it does not automatically mean somebody is ready to take responsibility for an AAAsports class.
Coaches are only put forward for our Internal Assessment once their practical development has been tracked, required areas have been signed off and both they and their Tutor Coach believe they are ready.
Every coach has to demonstrate that they can safely, confidently and consistently deliver our classes to the standard we expect.

We expect high standards and work hard, but sport should still be somewhere our Members and our team enjoy being.
The AAAsports Academy introduces Members aged 11+ to confidence, responsibility and leadership. From age 16, Academy Members can apply to progress into our Coach Education Programme.
Academy participation does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants still complete the same recruitment process and work towards exactly the same AAAsports standard as everyone else.
Paid coaching opportunities are offered according to factors including your availability, our staffing requirements, your experience and the qualifications you hold. The more you can coach, the more opportunities you are likely to create for yourself.
You do not need a perfect CV or your entire career mapped out. Depending on the route, you may not even need a coaching qualification. Bring the interest, enthusiasm, reliability and willingness to learn. We will show you what comes next.
