    An online interview lasting around 20 minutes.

  4. Meet the Team & Practical

    Visit AAAsports for around an hour, meet some of the Team, ask questions and take part in a few simple supervised activities. We are looking at how you communicate, listen, respond to feedback and learn — it is not a working shift.

    References, relevant checks and a decision about your place.

Do I need coaching experience?

Not for Coach Education or the Apprenticeship. We are interested in enthusiasm and willingness to learn. The Qualified Coach pathway is for people who already hold a recognised Gymnastics or Trampoline coaching qualification.

Is this just for school leavers?

No. The starting age is 16+, but first careers, career changes and returning to work are all welcome starting points.

How does Coach Education tutoring work?

We agree regular Tutor Coach time for your learning, normally at least one evening hour per week, ideally two. Please tell us when you cannot attend so we can plan. Missing tutoring carries no attendance penalty; progress depends on the learning completed.

AAAsports funds the agreed training. Allocated coaching Classes are paid after the relevant British Gymnastics qualification, AAAsports Internal Assessment and role checks. Any course-cost repayment terms are explained separately before you accept a funded place, not imposed through this application.

Which sport will I start with?

Coach Education and the Apprenticeship develop a gymnastics foundation. The Qualified Coach route can also consider relevant Trampoline coaching qualifications. We will discuss your discipline and what your award permits you to Coach.

What happens after recruitment?

Development continues with Tutor Coach support, tracked progress and the AAAsports Internal Assessment. Read the Qualified Coach, Coach Education Programme or Apprenticeship information for the detail of your pathway.

I am already in the AAAsports Academy. Can I apply?

From age 16, Academy Members can apply for Coach Education. You follow the same recruitment process; Academy participation does not guarantee a place. Read about the AAAsports Academy.
