DMT
What is DMT?
Double-Mini Tramp, or DMT for short, is an explosive and dynamic activity, best described as a cross between Trampoline and Vault. Members sprint down a track, jump on to the DMT, perform two somersaulting skills before landing on their feet on a landing mat. Everything is over within 20 seconds, making precision and perfection a necessity with each attempt!
What if I’ve never done DMT before?
To get the best out of your DMT class, we recommend that you have some prior experience in our Trampoline classes, where you will learn the basic skills and techniques needed for DMT. Once you have the basic Trampoline skills, your AAAsports Coach will teach you all of the basic DMT skills for needed in your first class. From there, the skills will get progressively more complex every time you attend!
What is the class structure like in DMT? Will I be by myself?
DMT classes all begin with a 15 minute floor warm-up. Members then transfer to the DMT, where there will be up to 8 Members working with a AAAsports Coach. Members will take it in turns to use the DMT, with the AAAsports Coach on hand to provide guidance and instruction ready for the next attempt! At the end of the class, all Members return to the floor area for a 15 minute cool-down.
How many Members are there in a group?
There are up to 8 Members taking it in turns on the DMT at any time.
Will I achieve any awards?
There are currently no DMT Awards, as Members generally achieve their Awards in their Trampoline classes instead. For more information on our Award Schemes, click here.
Can I take part in any competitions?
Each year Members are able to take part in the AAAsports Championships, which is a fun, friendly event for Members to demonstrate the skills they have learned throughout the year, and everyone who takes part receives a medal and certificate! AAAsports also have their own competitive DMT Squads who compete locally, nationally and internationally – these Squads are by invitation only, but all Members are closely monitored to determine suitability for these Squads.
