Another hugely successful weekend for the Squads at AAAsports this weekend, with Members taking part in competitions in both Hartlepool and Southampton!

Travelling down to the south coast, the Trampoline & DMT Squads were competing in their first Trampoline League event of the year, battling to gain important qualification points towards the League Finals later in the year.  The Squads performed exceptionally, with a number of high placing results and plenty of qualification points heading back to our Members!  Some successes included:
* Ollie - 1st in DMT, 2nd in Trampoline and 3rd in Synchro
* Bradley - 2nd in Trampoline and 3rd in Super League Trampoline
* Dan - 2nd in Trampoline and 3rd in Synchro
* Nathaniel - 2nd in DMT
* Matthew - 3rd in DMT

Meanwhile a little closer to home in Hartlepool, the Development and Performance Gymnastics Squads were tackling the Club and Competition levels of the Floor & Vault competitions!  Against some very difficult competition from other clubs in the area, AAAsports Members rose to the challenge and continued the winning weekend feeling with some excellent podium finishes!

* Niamh - 4th (O14 Competition)
* Charlotte - 5th (U14 Competition)

Entries for the AAAsports Championships and Presentation Ceremony are now open!  The biggest event of the AAAsports calendar and now being held over two days!

Members from across our locations and disciplines will come together on Saturday 23rd June at AAAsports Sunderland for a fun, friendly participation event designed to let every Member demonstrate what they've achieved in our classes over the last year.

Then on Sunday 24th June, we invite all of our Members to bring their friends and family to the Rainton Meadows Arena for our amazing Presentation Ceremony!  Every Member who takes part in the Championships event will receive their medal and certificate on stage at the arena as part of our amazing show, complete with lights, fireworks, videos and more!  Every one who attends will receive a meal and drink, and the show is followed by a disco and plenty of prizes to win!

New and existing Members experienced an action-packed Easter Fun Day this week, all thanks to AAAsports Leadership Academy Members!

Aged from 12 to 16, our Leadership Academy Members took on the task of organising an event as part of their 'Intro To Events' qualification.  Whilst our Coaches were on hand to assist with the coached activities in the event, the entire day was planned, organised and delivered solely by our Academy Members.

The event was a huge success, with over 60 people taking part across a huge variety of ages and abilities, including pre-schoolers and parents!  There were a number of activities taking place, including DMT, Cheerleading, Trampoline, Crafts and a raffle, with everyone who took part receiving a special prize too!

The event also attracted national attention from British Gymnastics, with Volunteering Support & Development Manager Geoff Grant travelling from Lilleshall to attend the event.  Following the event, Geoff said:
"Thank you to AAAsports and to the Leadership Academy for what I thought was a fantastic event.  The event, enthusiasm and positivity on show were great to see – and speak volumes about the good things I already know about AAAsports and as a group of people!"

​Congratulations to 18 Members of the Intermediate Gymnastics Squads who competed in the Floor & Vault competition at Gateshead Leisure Centre last week!  AAAsports had some fantastic results from across all categories, including:
* U10 Girls - Isabelle 4th & Riley 6th
* U10 Boys - Cameron 3rd
* U12 Girls - Abby 2nd, Alex 4th, Neveah 5th, Ruby 6th and Team 1st
* U12 Boys - Morgan 1st
* U14 Girls - Kacey 4th

These are fantastic results, especially as many of our Members this was only their first or second ever competition!  Congratulations everyone who took part and their Coaches!

Members of the Development and Performance Squads will compete in their Floor & Vault competitions on 22nd April in Hartlepool.
